You got past my landing portfolio-page and thought, “Hmm, I dig it. Let’s see what Claire Dam is like….as a person.”
And now you’re here on my About Me page. Welcome!
I take pride in converting photo-phobes into hams – in the span of one session. My goal in sessions, besides making magic with your faces, is to work with the person having the least fun, until they are enjoying the process. Or until, at least, they don’t hate life as much.
100% of my clients say “I hate having my photo taken.” And I hear you, girl, I hate it too. It’s awful. But I have years of experience making it painless, playful, and to many, even fun. I’m not exaggerating. Here are some quotes from recent photo-phobes:
“We were way more comfortable than we expected to be…”
T+J, engagement session
“When we got home he confessed he actually had a good time.”
S+S, engagement session
“Well, thank you, I was expecting that to suck but you actually made it kinda fun.”
My work is regularly published in national magazines, local magazine-newspapers and is featured on various wedding and lifestyle blogs online.
While I prefer to shoot on-location, I maintain a small studio-office in the heart of Hamilton’s arts district off James Street North, which is ideal for intimate lifestyle sessions or headshots.
I live on a small farm with my husband Kenny J. with my hens, ducks, goats, pigs, cats/kittens and dog.
